UNIQUE APPROACH TO GRAZING - 7 PASTURE  ROTATION

Instructions:

   Use this calculator for the seven pasture rotation grazing program without reducing herd size.

1. Same Animal Unit Approach

Under dry conditions, the Reduced Animal Unit Approach should be considered and during abundant forage conditions the Same Animal Unit Approach could be considered.

Steps:

1. One the first page, Continuous Grazing, plug in the total acres of your ranch.
2. Plug in the current acres per cow on your operation.
3. Plug in the number of acres in pasture number 1 and the program will calculate the number of animal units that pasture should carry.
4. Complete the same steps for pastures 2 through 7.
5. One the second page, the program will automatically calculate the animal units for pastures 2 through 7, assuming pasture number one is rested.
